H13 is tool steel developed to excel at high temperatures. This makes it very tough to forge but it makes a resilient punch or dies for hot work applications. Take note to be careful in how you heat treat it, it is air-hardening and improper heat treatment can leave the striking end of your tool hard which can cause chipping of the tool or hammer.
