Build-A-Knife-Box : The Scout
Have you ever wanted to build a knife, but you didn't have the right tools?
It can be expensive to set up an entire workshop, and it's hard to know exactly where to start. That's why we created the Build-A-Knife-Box. This is the easiest entry into knife making for a beginner, and a great kit for those with a practiced hand.
This kit comes with a the following:
- The "Scout" Knife blank water jet by Flow Water Jet (3/16 thick 1080 steel)
- 1x Brass pin to be cut into 3 pins (6" x 1/8" )
- 2x Ironwood Handle Scales (5" x 1.75" x 3/8")
- 1x HSS Black Oxide Jobber Length Drill Bit for drilling the handle scales (1/8")
You start with a knife, blank water jet by Flow Water Jet out of 3/16 thick 1080 steel. We even cut the holes into the steel to make your life easier. All you need to do is grind the bevels onto the knife, cut your pins, and drill holes into the handle scales. After you've done that, you'll profile your handle, glue it all up, and then have an awesome utility knife!

Tools Required
A Drill - We supply the bit!
The knife blanks we supply already have holes for pins, you just need to drill the scales!
1x30 Grinder
While a lot of knife making is made easier with a forge, 2x72 grinder, and fancy tools, this knife can be made with the most basic option.
Misc.
