This idler arm gives you the ability to have a much tighter workpiece fit into a small wheel attachment by bringing the belt to a more acute angle.
It is not necessary for running small wheel attachments on our 2x48 or 2x72" Kit grinder but gives you a lot more options in terms of where your small wheels will fit.
